Project: K'Cidade – Urban Community Support Programme
"Out of the 441 nurseries expected by the Government in 2006, only 130 were built throughout the country. Out of the 76 nurseries promised by António Costa for Lisbon in last October, none will be placed in Alta de Lisboa. Moreover, none will be in the Ameixoeira parish, none will be in the Charneca and none will be in Lumiar. The three parishes have ca. 100.000 inhabitants and these correspond to 20% of the capital's population. Besides being populous, they have young residents and a family size higher than the Lisbon municipality (34 individuals per family and 2, 4 respectively) and than the country. (Data from the Diagnosis of Alta of Lisbon – CEDRU/K'Cidade)."
